Made to be used
Kiondo baskets are woven tightly, so they keep their shape for years, at the market and long after.
Ask at the stall how long a kiondo takes to weave.

Woven, stitched and lined by hand
A kiondo starts as sisal fibre that is dyed and woven into a basket, then finished with leather straps or an Ankara lining. Totes and purses are cut and stitched in small workshops.

Woven sisal, Ankara cloth
The kiondo is woven by hand from sisal. Our bags pair that weaving with Ankara cloth and leather.
